On the entrance ramp of a motorway junction in Piedmont, due to a previous detensioning of the embankment, a detensioning of the ground had created and even after the embankment had been redeveloped, the fear of residual subsidence on the carriageway persisted.
To re-tension the ground, URETEK's Deep Injections technology was used, which allows to consolidate the road body without removing the surface.
In the initial phase, the road package was drilled until it reached the foundation ground, the injection ducts for the expanding resin were laid in the holes made.
Designed according to the specifications of the patented URETEK Multipoint injection system, the ducts are equipped with perfectly calibrated holes, during the injection the resin comes out simultaneously from all the holes, in the same quantity and with a pressure such as to overcome the resistance of the ground.
Thanks to a system of intermittent injections, the uniform distribution of the expanding resin consolidates the soil in depth, quickly and homogeneously, without spreading beyond the desired volume.
With the rapidity of the URETEK intervention and the rapid hardening of the resin, the interruption of traffic on the ramp was greatly reduced, which was returned to full operation immediately after the intervention.
